The Imagery of the Ten of Wands Tarot Card

A man is carrying a heavy load of a bundle of ten wands and he is bent over with this heavy load. He is unable to look above or even ahead due to this position as he is busy carrying this huge bundle. He is taking it to a town nearby; there are trees at a distance that show growth and transformation, a house which is a symbol of self and shelter and a plowed field. The field is the symbol of ‘as you sow, so shall you reap’ or karma. The person’s posture indicates that he is not in a comfortable position. His orange-brown shirt indicates his determination and the olive green color of his leggings is a color of harmony and diplomacy. The mustard color of the road on which he is walking symbolizes warmth and originality.

Astrology and the Ten of Wands

In astrology, the Ten of Wands tarot card corresponds to the third decan of Sagittarius that falls between 13th December and 21rst December. In this decan, we have Saturn in Sagittarius in the wheel of the year. The golden dawn designers called it the Lord of Oppression. The readiness of Sagittarius to communicate is blocked by Saturn and it represses the impulses. Saturn is the planet of limitations, determination, introspection, discipline, and structure and Sagittarius is a freedom-loving sign.

Ten of Wands and Kabbalah

All the four tens and all the pages belong to the Sefirot of Malkuth in Kabbalah. Malkuth means Kingdom. The ten of Wands is Malkuth in Atziluth, the land of emanation and pure spirit.

Ten of Wands as a Person

The Ten of Wands tarot card represents someone as a person who is determined and ambitious and trying too much and too hard. A person who doesn’t delegate responsibilities and gets overworked and exhausted. These people are worn out, tired, and exhausted yet determined to finish the tasks that they have started. These people are dutiful but too much burden doesn’t let them look at or enjoy the bigger picture of life. They only work.

If this tarot card appears in a general reading, it might signify that you are enthusiastic and determined but you have so many loads on your shoulders that you can barely take. You have achieved in your life but the achievements have brought responsibilities as well. This card might also indicate that the querent is stressed, burdened, troubled, and exhausted but he cannot or does not delegate the tasks. The querent is overwhelmed with everything but he or she doesn’t have time or energy to look at the future or the bigger picture.  If this card appears in your general reading, you should work on prioritizing tasks and sharing some of the burdens with others.

Ten of Wands Tarot Card in a Daily reading

If this card appears in a daily reading, it might indicate that today is going to be a tough day in terms of work, commitments, and responsibilities. The tasks that you have started with enthusiasm and energy have now become a burden that is heavier than you can lift easily. You should give the work one last push as your goal is really near or delegate some of the tasks to others to help you with it. Today is also a day when you should reexamine your lifestyle and modify it in a way so you don’t have to be really hard on yourself.

Ten of Wands Tarot Card in a Love Reading

If this card appears in a Love reading it might show that you are carrying the whole burden and responsibilities of the relationship and now it has become difficult for you to maintain. You should ask your partner to help you and share the responsibilities as this is too much for you to handle.

Ten of Wands Reversed Tarot Card Meaning

When this Ten of Wands tarot card is in a reversed position, the burden will fall off from the hands of the man. It can indicate two things and can be read in two ways. One is that he got too tired, fatigued, and exhausted that he gave up everything as he was broken down. The other meaning can be that he finally learned to let go and share his responsibilities with others and he got relief. I like to go with the second meaning more but you can decide which one to choose at the time of the reading.

If this card appears in a reversed position in a love reading then it might represent that you are taking the time out for yourself and looking at other things besides only taking responsibilities.

In a career reading, this card in a reversed position shows that you are sharing the tasks and work with your colleagues, have sought help, and now can look at the future and the better picture as well.

In a health reading, this card might show that you have started taking care of yourself and looking at the brighter picture besides only struggling with worries and concerns.
